I have read this post in its entirety. Having now read through it, I have come to the end and have only one question… or rather, one comment.
I am quite curious to know: What is it exactly that made the moment in which Clifford chose to share this letter so perfect?
If you so choose to respond to my letter/inquiry, it would be well appreciated.
Respectfully,
Mrs. Bateman
P.S.
I am a great fan of letters and thus, I instantly followed your Instagram account when I discovered it years ago. I’m very glad to see you’re now publishing on Substack as well, and I trust that you will publish here quite responsibly and in good taste. Thank you for all that you share.
These words “This was written by a person” would have never been used in the 1970’s-90’s. The letter maybe authentic and satirical but there is heavy doubt with the typed bottom line.
The P.S. is eerily prophetic!
Love it. If I'd gotten that letter, I really wouldn't feel so bad.

It was SNL's 50th celebrations this weekend.

OUCH! That hurts clear over here.
