Just watched ET with my grandson. I remember the packed cinema erupting and me sobbing at the end. Maybe we need more shared great cinema moments to bring our country together.
Loved this letter and the reminder of ET. It came out the year before my daughter was born. I don't know if she ever saw it. Now that she has children of her own, I think I get a DVD copy for her and the kids. Thank you.
Beg to differ with you, my friend. This is not a funeral nor is it a solstice celebration. It is substack. I was lured by a beautiful thought of doing justice to the dream of a child-on the day we will celebrate the 3rd birthday of my granddaughter, only to be reminded that society relies upon Hollywood, celebrities and the government of all things, to fulfill "our" dreams. I was a child who dreamed. Weren't you? The amazing beauty of life and nature cannot be replicated, manipulated and I have become enraged by the constant "emotional manipulation" that hides a very dark and malevolent intent.
I don't watch anymore, nor do I have a television. I like to read. I worry about my grandchildren and how what they are fed via media will shape their views. Thanks for asking. I do like to talk to people who may differ from me. We are after all, sharing the same world. I hope you have a good weekend.
Dreams of space. Just bought Letters of Note: Space. Thank you.

Lovely. Too bad Spielberg is now just a political whore, who does injustice, using his skills to manipulate.
Thanks for spreading the love.

Who is forcing you to watch movies?
If you're so easily manipulated by Hollywood, that speaks to your insecurities.
