This is an absolutely incredible collection of writings from letters about autumn! It rains through autumn where I'm at, so this (like every single one of your newsletters) is oh so inspiring and a welcome change of perspective about the season. Thanks for collecting and sharing these! It is often a bright spot in my reading.
Hi Shaun. A lovely collection, and beautifully presented. Thanks. I'm a stickler for accuracy, and did notice one tiny error. In the Van Gogh entry, he actually wrote "canvas and colors." Thought you would like to know. I'm also a major quotation collector, and if you would like to see my fairly extensive collection of "Autumn/Fall" quotations, go here: https://www.drmardy.com/dmdmq/a#autumn_fall
John Cheever is right. There's definitely something very important missing in the California psyche. The incessant green of "winter" taking over the tawny colors of summer and the glaring yellow of aspens soon exhausts the eyes. Like a Hollywood action movie, the senses are soon dulled and morose.

Gotta love that John Cheever.

Happy Hunting and Creating
Happy Thursday… so creative you are.
The combination of words and pictures is delightful especially for a poor, backward Californian.
Wonderful and poignant ways of seeing (and smelling and feeling) Autumn. Thank you!
Delicious autumn!
Backward are those who think that Italy and its nature are only made up of the Abruzzi region 😉 I hope young Fred was less so than his father.
These are perfect <3
