Don’t you just love cherry-pickers?

The mixing of fibers in Leviticus applied specifically to wool and linen (I personally eschew poly-cotton sheets). Why then did the very pious in the 17th-19th wear linsey-woolsy so much, even if it was a less expensive cloth?
