Thank you, Sean. I saw Maestro this past weekend, it was so moving and well done. Yo Yo Ma is one of my most favorite musicians ever, not only for his sublime music but also for the kind, gentle, wise, and generous soul that he is. I highly recommend THE MUSIC OF STRANGERS- Yo-Yo Ma and The Silkroad Ensemble available on Amazon. Bernstein was an equal genius but shall we say a bit more complicated. I would have liked to have been privy to their conversations.
Yo Yo Ma is the music I've admired the most in all my years, not just for his superb musicianship but also for his warmth and graciousness as a human being. (One does tire of the tantrums of celebrities.) He's been an ambassador of bringing people together with his various musical projects. I was only sorry that his Sesame Street visits didn't include a serenade for Miss Piggy.
It's easy to look at Yo-yo Ma now, an elderly, undisputed master of the cello, and forget that was once a 10-year old kid like everybody else (well, aside from being a prodigy and all). The 10-year-old lack of self consiousness while talking about learning 3 concertos is delightful. Thanks for the article!
Wow. Just wow.

Such a powerful and vital message. We need this now. ♥️
