I know I'm just being a tired nostalgic, but isn't it a little sad that in a generation's time what we'll have to look back to are tweets by our favorite musicians and not these gorgeous letters? I hope Jason Isbell does this, instead of constructs a tweet thread, when they ask him to review a guitar that isn't a Fender or a Les Paul.
I surfed with Bruce a couple times in Asbury park. One jetty north of the Stone Pony. I smiled and said hey. He flat out ignored me. Hahaha I like him so much more now because of it. Now I get it at my big age of 37. I have no time for socializing in the water. I go to it for solitude and balance.
As a born and bred New Jersey boy, I should have loved Bruce from day one. But I like it better that it took until I was an adult to appreciate him and his music. He's got heart, no one can deny.
There are two kinds of people in the world
Proud owner of a Telecaster *and* a Gibson (a reverse body Firebird)-- both bought in 1970.
So good! Thanks for this one!
Brilliant response from my favorite Jersey boy!
Like a boss.

What a great piece of rock n roll history. That's why he's the boss.
