In 1955, a high school editor wrote to American poet E. E. Cummings and asked whether he had any words of advice for those who wished to follow in Cummings’ footsteps. On October 26th 1955, Cummings’ reply, reprinted below, was published in the Ottawa Hills Spectator, titled, “A Poet’s Advice to Students.”
