What stuck out to me in this letter was her idea that it seemed the human race was coming to an end, a failed species. Many today believe the same thing, yet here we are, continuing our race to the bottom and still seeing the sun lift its light above the horizon. The peril because of the nuclear bomb indeed was very real. We could've snuffed ourselves out then, yet we pushed it down. It is emerging again, but as before, we will not end. We are too stubborn to disappear from this earth any time soon.
Amazing woman and I’m sure her mother was as well. Seems so easy to relate to that horrible time as we are in it once again. I wish I had the guts and clear sightedness of this trailblazer.
