I was about to write ‘Brilliant’ only to discover that ‘GMarkC’ got there first .. so let me say ‘Brilliant’ ... I don’t care about the complaints of repetition. They’re too oft’ repeated anyway!
This is so true. I recently had a friend tear apart my novel, counting the number of times I used certain words.
Writing is also objective. If there aren't rules that both writer and reader follow then you are only approximating your meaning. You may be a special little snowflake with your own quirky understanding of the semicolon, but ignorance is not style.
