There are statues of Grace and Lincoln meeting in the middle of little Westfield, NY today. Very cute!

What is even more remarkable than this lovely story is the efficiency of the mail system - a letter written in rural NY is able to be replied to from Illinois in just 4 days! Speed today’s USPS can only dream of!

Isn't it too bad that such letter-writing is a lost art? And as Sherman Alexie mentions here, the utter decency of the writers. And add to that the efficiency of the mail system, Vanc10's remark. The world is moving backwards at a rapid speed.
